Completed her residency in internal medicine at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, East Carolina School of Medicine, Greenville, NC. 

She completed her fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.

Dr. Iyer is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.

Dr. Iyer is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology.
